The EU-funded frontierCities 2 Accelerator launches a new Call for Proposals for Start-Ups and SMEs in the Smart Cities sector!

frontierCities2 has launched on 29th November 2017 the 2nd Open Call for its Market Acceleration Grants “MAG2”.

frontierCities 2 is offering up to € 75,000 equity free funding for start-ups and SMEs with already developed FIWARE-powered solutions/applications in the Smart Cities Sector. Selected Start-ups & SMEs will have the opportunity to receive tailored technical and commercial support to succeed in their Market take-up phase!

About the frontierCities 2 Accelerator

frontierCities2 represents a quantum leap in the scope, ambition and service in the Acceleration & Incubation of European Start-ups and SMEs using  FIWARE Technology!

frontierCities2 builds on the powerful basis of the first edition of the frontierCities Accelerator (2014-2016), which created an exceptional geographical reach including 28 SMEs and start-ups who developed and trialled 28 smart mobility solutions in 45+ city environments across Europe!

Who can apply to MAG2? – Key Eligibility Criteria

1.       MAG2 Grants are dedicated only to powered by FIWARE applications for the Smart Cities domain, already developed during earlier EU FI-PPP programmes (Phase 1 and 2) or during the FI-PPP Phase 3 - A16 acceleration programme.

2.       Applicants must be start-ups or SMEs established in a EU Member State or H2020 Associated Country.

3.       Applicants must prove that their powered by FIWARE Application has been piloted in real life environment, with a relevant number of users in collaboration with a city and/or corporate/industrial partner and/or other institutional entity and for a reasonable period of time (Simulations are not accepted).

CERtuS Workshop in Athens - Save the date

The Greek team of CERtuS, Municipality of Alimos, ETVA VIPE and EUDITI-Energy & Environmental Design Ltd, is organizing a workshop on the “Financing schemes for nearly zero energy renovation of existing public buildings” to be held in Athens on 8 December 2016.

The topics to be discussed include the nZEB renovation options and the financing schemes that were examined in CERtuS, focusing on the Greek case studies. Also selected local and international success stories will be presented.

Moreover, the most suitable types of EPC contracts that were examined in the CERtuS case studies will be discussed emphasising on the difficulties that are usually encountered in such contracts by both contracting parties i.e. municipalities and ESCOs.

The workshop will be held at the Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Athens, 7, Akadimias str., Athens; Opening at 8:30 a.m.
